As spring awakens the spirit and energy of life within and around us here in the
central Ohio region, we can find both beauty and hope in the experience of this
cyclic rebirth. The fresh and clean feel of budding trees, blooming flowers, the
aroma of the soil, the warmth of the sun, the fresh feel of the air, and the songs of
our wined friends all come together to resonate with the opportunity and experi-
ence of new and fresh beginnings.
Our market logo, a traditional symbol well known as a morning star quilt design, is
representative of rebirth and the opportunity to begin again. As the sun rises each
day the morning star promises us with its appearance a new chance to start fresh
again to nurture the good and replace old ways that have not been healthy or life giving with new ways that can build
opportunity and awaken us to a path that is true and full of potential. Each diamond on the design represents an
attribute, an experience, a perspective, an act, an element that leads us to greater understanding and a deeper
experience of the creator's design for our life. Each color represents in addition the great forces of creation that swirl
and blend to create all life and all things in our universe. Morning star quilts are frequently given
to the child and family upon the child's birthing into this world a symbol of good wishes for the
child's protection and hope that the child will walk a true path in its days on the earth.
The morning star quilt design was given to our market community to encourage the same and to
symbolize the reawaking opportunity of our cooperative community to start fresh again after
numerous cycles of business and community development that stretch back thirty five years. For
those of us who hold this story in our heart and feel the beauty, spirit, and rebirth of spring and still can find a reason
to believe when the morning sun rises it feels good to see our market community healthy and growing.
In closing, I would like to sincerely thank the many of you who offered me and my family your condolences, your
kind gifts and your prayers for the passing of my mother Adylyne Lee Massenelli Bain. She was an honest person who
cared about others and my family is very proud of her for the life she lived.
Thank you and God bless you.
Sincerely,
Edward Bain
