Report
Diane reported that the committee met to develop an application
for the scholarship. It was presented to the Board, who will look
over it and have comments/feedback at the February meeting.
VIII. Produce Cooler/ Renovation Proposal
Bob presented the board with a detailed packet of information,
which explained the benefits of the proposal, the estimated costs,
and how to carry out the renovation.
A few benefits this proposal included:
·
Three of the store's oldest, least efficient coolers would
be replaced with one new compressor (eliminating need
for extra air conditioning),
·
Produce could be displayed with less plastic,
·
The most narrow aisles in the store would be replaced
with 2 large 4' aisles running North and South through
the heart of the store.
Board members asked questions, then a discussion followed .
The Board was supportive and excited about the proposal; many
see the pros outweighing cons. Money was the main concern.
The Board asked Bob to come back with strategies of how to
raise some money so that we wouldn't need such a large loan.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
