June is a great time to
stop into the Market
and pick up your
essentials for the yard,
the table, or the
garden!
We'll be watching for
you! And thanks for
shopping at the
market!
Organic produce is the
cornerstone of Clintonville
Community Market. We
love providing our custom-
ers with a wide selection of
fresh, quality fruits and
vegetables every day. In
fact, our produce depart-
ment is growing and we
feel that in order to better
serve our customers we
need to expand in that area.
Since March 2004 our
department directors have
been researching a project
that would involve the
most aggressive invest-
ment in our store facility to
date. By purchasing two
new produce coolers and
installing one walk-in
cooler we currently own, we will double the amount of produce retail space in our store, as well as
increase retail space for more supplements and fresh deli food. In addition, this project will phase
out three outdated inefficient compressors and replace them with one new energy efficient unit.
"We want to buy traditional
produce coolers designed to
present our produce in a more
appealing, aesthetically pleasing
way," says CCM Grocery Director
Sean Luse. "Also, we will phase
out the unrecycleable plastic bags
we have been using to display our
produce in."
The total estimated cost of the
project is $31,000.00. Expenses
include two new produce coolers
with installation for $25,000.00, and
installation of an exterior walk-in
cooler for $6,000. Clintonville
Community Market is calling upon
its member-owners to invest in the project by pledging to achieve our goal of raising $10,000 of
the $31,000 total cost. Letters and pledge cards have been mailed out to all member-owners and
information is available from our cashiers if you would like to invest. Remember, in 2004
Clintonville Community Market returned over $130,000 in discounts back to our member-owners.
Consider making a payment toward the improvement of your community cooperative business
and help us achieve our goal and build a better future for the Market! MEMBERS YOU OWN
