The clinic offers several services. Therapeutic massage
includes Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point & myofacial
release. Other services offered are aromatherapy
massage, hot stone therapy, chair massage, and a spa
package. Laura recently purchased a "wassage table",
which is a massage table with a waterbed top, and plans
to offer sessions using this table soon. There are also gift
certificates, special pricing packages, and discounts
available.
Massage is not Laura's only passion. Her first and
foremost passion is art. She has a college degree in fine
arts and works mainly in sculpture, ceramics, and mixed
media. Laura says that there a direct connection
between her art and her massage. It's all in how she
works with a client. She says that just as every piece of
art is different and requires a unique approach to work
on, so it is with the human body. Each person is different
and has their own unique needs, and so they must be
approached in the best way to meet those needs.
Laura considers herself a healer, as well as an artist,
when it comes to massage. She believes that massage is
not just a physical therapy, but that it touches the body,
mind, heart, and spirit and embodies the soul. She is
amazed that some people are uncomfortable with
associating healing and massage. She has personally
seen the results of her work, clients who are able to
relax, are no longer in pain, and one who was able to
avoid back surgery!
Laura's
specialty is
deep tissue
and trigger
point
therapy and
most of her
clients come
to the clinic
specifically
for this kind
of work. She
likes
integrating
hot stone
therapy with deep tissue work because she finds that it
enhances the effects on circulation and muscle
relaxation once the deep tissue work has been
completed. She says she always finishes a session with
some energy work for balancing and deeper relaxation.
Pain relief, feeling balanced and relaxed, hot stones in
the cold of winter sound good to you? If you've never
had a massage, maybe it's time to consider getting one!
And remember, massage doesn't just feel good; it's good
